Children Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) offer short term, low intensity guided self-help based on CBT principles to young people and families with mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and common behavioural difficulties.
We are a team within CAMHS, but we provide interventions at a PRE-CAMHS level. Really focusing on the early intervention and first presentation of a mental health difficulty.
We aim to provide young people and/or parents with tools and strategies to better manage their difficulties.
These practitioners are highly trained and closely supervised/assessed to ensure fidelity to the specialised psychological interventions
CWPs can work with:
- Behavioural difficulties (infant/primary school ages only)
- Simple phobias (e.g. dogs, lifts)
- Mild separation anxiety
- Panic symptoms
- Generalised anxiety
- Exam Stress
- Mild-moderate low mood (secondary school ages only)
- Sleep management
